What To Do With Old Home Printers?

What can I do with a home lexmark printer the has an error code of E005? Supposidly an easy fix for some people. If I can fix it where can I donate it?

    I don’t know how it is where you are, but here in London, if you leave an unwanted item outside your house (on the sidewalk) it disappears within minutes. Shame it doesn’t work for an old fridge-freezer
