Peer to peer file sharing programs like Limewire can’t damage your computer unless you are careless and download malicious files, and try to run or open them.
Using anti-virus and keeping it updated is a strong defense, and will protect you from most viruses, but it certainly does not make your computer immune to all viruses. In any case, you should always scan files you download from untrusted sources, but in the end it’s up to you to exercise caution and good judgment when you download things. Pay attention to file extensions, and file sizes.
By the way, any program you use that connects to the internet must be allowed to pass through your firewall or it won’t be able to connect. Firewalls work by blocking connections to certain ports that could allow people to gain access to and harm your computer, while allowing connections on ports that can’t be used to gain access to your computer.

My boss tells me that this is the “wave of the future,” but how can that be? We have two new printers, an HP4750 and an HP 2420, both very aggressive and with all options. But it takes FOREVER to print, say, 100 envelopes. And although our IT department has given it some time and attention, they haven’t been able to help. Can anyone?

How long does it take to get on to the ship? Do they search every piece of luggage? Do they make you empty your pockets and search your shoes like at the airport?

I purchased the Brother 2040 B/W laser printer. I have some black and white photographs and wanted to print them out with the laser printer. However, I’ve heard that I can’t use gloss paper because the heat will melt the coating and ruin the printer. Is there high quality photo paper for laser printers? Does it make a difference if the paper is for color laser printers as opposed to black and white? Factors such as weight, iso brightness, gloss, matte…it is all becoming very confusing with such a wide selection.
The photos are pretty sharp and I want to use the highest possible quality paper that is the safest to use on the laser printer. I would like to get the most professional looking results possible with a laser printer. However, finding that paper is proving rather daunting!
Thanks for all your help!
